Why Target-Neuro

Technology and Neuroscience Build a New Tactical Training Mindset

Elite athletes have precise training routines and access to the latest technology to gain even the smallest percentage in better performance. The tactical community is now benefitting from this elite athlete mindset with training methodologies that combine technology with neuroscience. This unique training methodology focuses on faster, more decisive response in law enforcement scenarios, preparing officers with exacting skills that target how the eyes, brain and body collaborate when seconds matter most.

Train for Better Attention, Reaction Time and Processing Speed

Target-Neuro has created a one-of-a-kind system that uses proven Neuroscience and visual cues along with a patented LED target system to improve tactical performance. By using the “Perception-Action Cycle,” the primary aim is to work on visual input, perception, cognitive process and the resulting execution.

Reaction Process To Stimulus

Vision is Approximately 80% of Sensory Information Processed by the Brain

The demand of eye movement in critical situations is crucial to locate visual targets and stabilize images. By using multiple visual cues in training, Target-Neuro improves the four primary types of eye movements of:

^

Saccades (rapid movement of the eye between fixation points)

^
Smooth pursuit (tracking a moving object)
^
Vergence (adjusting for distance)
^
Vestibulo-ocular (maintain visual stability during motion)

This increases the ability to prioritize targets and recognize threats quicker.

Once visual input is established, the brain takes over, using Cognition to evaluate options, process multiple outcomes, and make multiple decisions. While this seems to happen instantaneously, there is a significant amount of time that can be improved with targeted training. The goal is to pick up the given environment and make smart and decisive decisions, using impulse control for explosive and CORRECT Execution.

Visual Response Time

Milliseconds Make the Difference in De-Escalation or Violent Encounters

With a team of professional trainers in their fields, Target-Neuro combines proven neuroscience with a multi-programmable force-on-target system to create various dynamic and unique scenarios as a tool for tactical training.

Using the “The Big 3” Domains of Cognition of Attention, Processing Speed and Reaction Time, we train specific areas of the brain: the occipital lobe, the pre-frontal cortex, the cerebellum and the motor cortex

^

Attention – Ability to process relevant goal orientation information & ignore (filter out) irrelevant information unrelated to the goal.

^

Processing Speed – The time between receiving, understanding, and responding to a stimulus. Can be measured by the efficiency of physical response within a task that requires information processing and is measured in reaction time.

^

Reaction Time – Used as a measure to gauge the mental chronometer of the shift of attention.

Each of these areas is of massive importance in the tactical world and Target-Neuro is the only system that provides the training needed to increase the load on the brain to process information faster.

Target-Neuro Benefits

^
The Target-Neuro system specifically works on improving reaction over reflex.
^
Research has proven that using lights as visual cues can improve brain performance and reaction time.
^
Vision accounts for approximately 80% of all sensory information received and processed by the brain.
^
The demand of eye movement in critical situations is crucial to locate visual targets and stabilize images.

"As a training tool to help improve reaction time and target differentiation, the system offers an exciting approach to tactical decision making and weapons proficiency exercises. The versatile system can be tailored to all levels of experience for anyone who must make use of force decisions rapidly, for competition shooters wanting to improve their speed and accuracy, and for those that provide weapons-based self-defense training!"

Quincy H, LT SWAT Commander

"In law enforcement, "neurocognitive efficiency" is being able to make smarter, faster decisions in the field...where split-seconds can be a matter of life and death."

Robert V, Former SWAT Commander

"TargetNeuro is changing the game with various visual stimulus, tailored to make operators “thinkers before shooters”!"

Sean P, DOD Contractor

"I like the incorporation of LED lights for target acquisition and identification training, as it enhances the cognitive ability of the Operator to make sound and timely engagement decisions. The different drills would be limitless. Great training program!"
